Det verkar som om vi har något alldeles extra att se fram emot när nästa generationens Xbox och Playstation släpps. I alla fall om vi får lita på ett uttalande från EA:s Labels president Frank Gibeau som säger att konsolerna är spektakulära.
"When you launch a new IP it needs to do something really, really remarkable, and that's easier to do when you have a new set of technology that gives you novel capabilities. This is the longest cycle that any of us have ever seen, and we're at the point where a little bit of fatigue has set in, and people are wondering what they can possibly do next.
I've seen the machines that we're building games for, and they're spectacular. Gen 4 hardware is a huge opportunity, and it's going to lead to a huge growth spurt for the industry.
Frank Gibeau uttalade sig också om nästa generationens konsoler förra veckan då han meddelade att de kommer att släppas om ungefär ett år vilket innebär att nästa E3 kan, om han har rätt, bli ett av de mest intressanta på länge.
Det enda som Gibeau anser skulle kunna hota de nya konsolerna är riktigt avancerade surfplattor och för EA:s del spelar det ändå inte så stor roll eftersom de kommer att utveckla spel för samtliga plattformar.
Så så, inte för höga förväntningar nu gott folk.
