Last year Volvo Trucks showcased their fuel cell-powered electric trucks for the first time. Now they have test-driven the first prototypes on public roads. The testing took place in Kiruna in extremely cold weather conditions to truly put the trucks to the test. The fuel cell system was developed in collaboration with Daimler and under the hood are two fuel cells that generate a total of 300 kW.Around 2025 the first trucks of this kind will become commercially available. Before that tests will be conducted with selected transport companies.
