Hoppas göra dessa till betalande kunder?

I söndags hade sjunde säsongen av Game of Thrones premiär och som vanligt tilldrog det sig stort intresse bland fildelare vilket HBO har uppmärksammat.

Enligt TorrentFreak så har HBO:s samarbetspartner IP Echelon redan börjat skicka ut varningar till amerikanska internetleverantörer om att vissa av deras kunder har laddat hem illegala versioner av sjunde säsongens första avsnitt. Enligt amerikansk lag så behöver inte internetleverantörerna vidarebefordra dessa brev till sina kunder men många gör det ändå för att visa respekt för upphovsrättsinnehavarna.

Skulle HBO vilja ha reda på vilka som finns bakom alla de IP-adresser de har samlat in måste de gå till domstol och begära detta. Sannolikheten att HBO drar Game of Thrones-fans som piratkopierar avsnitten inför rätta bedömer TorrentFreak som låg då det antagligen skulle skapa rätt så mycket badwill för företaget.

Snarare hoppas nog HBO att göra de som piratkopierar GoT medvetna om att HBO känner till detta och kanske kan det få en och annan att hoppa på det lagliga alternativet. Nedan kan ni se hur varningarna från IP Echelon till internetleverantörerna ser ut.
