FIFA och EA Sports drar igång eWorld Cup

Första VM:et i eFotboll arrangeras nästa år

Den internationella fotbollsorganisationen FIFA och spelutvecklaren Electronic Arts meddelade igår att man nästa år kommer att arrangera eWorld Cup vilket kommer att bli den första gången ett officiellt VM i EA Sports spel FIFA arrangeras.

Philippe Le Floc’h från FIFA säger i ett pressmeddelande:
"We are thrilled to partner with EA in creating the EA SPORTS FIFA 18 Global Series, as the Road to the FIFA eWorld Cup 2018 will increase the ways in which millions of fans consume football. In line with the FIFA 2.0 vision, we are excited to expand FIFA’s engagement in eSport and competitive gaming. This new tournament will engage even more football fans throughout the world and inspire dreams, passion and performance."
FIFA 18-spelare som är intresserade av att delta i eWorldCup måste först kvalificera sig via EA SPORTS FIFA 18 Global Series. Bland dessa spelare kommer sedan de 128 bästa spelarna, 64 PlayStation 4-spelare och 64 Xbox One-spelare, gå vidare till Global Series Playoffs. Slutligen kommer 32 spelare, 16 från respektive plattform, få delta i huvudturneringen FIFA eWorldCup 2018 Grand Final.
