Toppkommentator för League of Legends avstängd

Diskuterade en tjänst hos ett av lagen han rapporterade om

Den välkända kommentatorn för League of Legends, Martin “Deficio” Lynge, har blivit avstängd från att kommentera under kommande Championship Series efter att ha diskuterat ett eventuellt jobb hos ett av LOL-lagen som han ska kommentera, Copenhagen Wolves.

Martin Lynge är anställd direkt under Riot och enligt spelföretaget måste anställda säga till om de blir erbjudna jobb i något lag eller inleder en förhandling, något som Lynge inte gjorde. Så här säger Riot om beslutet:

"Although it’s not unusual for Rioters to be approached with offers from LCS organizations, it’s important that the organization and Rioter let us know as soon as an offer is made to raise awareness around potential conflicts of interest. In this case, we believe that Deficio showed poor judgment in navigating this conflict of interest."

"Our goal is not to mandate that all Rioters approached by external organizations report their conversations to us. This would be unreasonable at best and certainly doesn’t demonstrate the support we give to Rioters who leave the company to pursue their dreams elsewhere. In the case of esports, however, where crossing the line in terms of competitive integrity can be so easily done, making us aware of the job offer would have allowed Martin (and us) to sidestep the almost inevitable conflicts of interest that came up. Reporting firm job offers doesn’t challenge the Rioters’ position - whether or not they choose to take up the offer - but it creates transparency in a competitive environment where we ask for total neutrality from Rioters."

Martin Lynge är nu förbjuden att bli en medlem i något pro League-lag som deltar i LCS innan säsongen för 2016 är slut och han får inte kommentera förrän efter fjärde veckan i säsongen för 2015. Efter det får han även fortsättningsvis inte kommentera matcher där Copenhagen Wolves spelar på obestämd framtid.

Även tränaren för Copenhagen Wolves har blivit avstängd fram tills fjärde veckan under pågående säsong. Det har nämligen visat sig att han ljugit för sina spelare och sagt att han fått unik information från Martin Lynge som skulle kunna hjälpa dem under LCS. Om det stämmer har inte kunnat bekräftas.
