Förra året så slutade Spotify att utveckla sin klient till operativsystemet Linux men nu har man släppt en ny inofficiell Spotify-klient till Linux.

Anledningen till att Spotify nu släpper en ny linux-klient uppges bero på att Spotifys utvecklare ville ha en vettig Spotify-klient till sina utvecklarmaskiner så att de kunde lyssna på Spotify medan de arbetade. Det är med andra ord en slags inofficiellt Spotify-app och Spotify skriver:
"Spotify for Linux is a labor of love from our engineers that wanted to listen to Spotify on their Linux development machines. They work on it in their spare time and it is currently not a platform that we actively support. The experience may differ from our other Spotify Desktop clients, such as Windows and Mac."
Spotify till Linux ska fungera på linux-smakerna Linux Mint, Manjaro, Debian, Open Suse, Solus samt Ubuntu skriver The Next Web. Klienten går att ladda ner på länken nedan.
