Alpina presenterar nu den nya modellen D3 S och eftersom det är ett D med i namnet är det diesel som gäller. 3:an står för 3-serie och S:et för supersnabb. Alpina har utgått från BMW M340d och gett den ännu mer kraft och bättre prestanda. Effekten är vanligtvis 340 hästar och 700 newtonmeter men det har Alpina skruvat upp till 355 respektive 730. Vridet ska finnas tillgängligt redan vid 1750 varv. Motorn är en turbomatad rak sexa på 3,0 liter. Den har mildhybridteknik och det här blir första gången Alpina bygger en modell som har detta. Till paketet kopplas en åttategad automatlåda som driver alla fyra hjulen och 0-100 km/h går på 4,6 sekunder för sedanen och 4,8 för kombin. Toppfarten ligger på 273 respektive 270 km/h.Fjädrar och stötdämpare har man hämtat från Alpina B3 och bromsarna kommer från B5 Biturbo. Interiören är på vanligt vis också tillpiffad och här finns bland annat en ny ratt, mer skinn och andra sömmar.Är man sugen går det bra att beställa nu och de första leveranserna ska ske i november. Priset för sedanen börjar på 70.500 euro medan kombin kostar från 71.900 euro.

SURPRISING.
It combines the best of two worlds: a drivetrain that offers excellent throttle response at low rpm’s yet which is sporty and high-revving, unlike most typical modern diesels. A consistently forceful power delivery, peaking at an impressive output of 261 kW (355 hp) and a maximum torque of 730 Nm (538 lbs-ft), know how to surprise. The innovative BMW mild hybrid technology, which delivers a noticeable performance boost especially in the lower speed range, is adopted for the first time in a BMW ALPINA automobile.
THRILLING.
The powerful straight-six 3.0 litre diesel engine is perfectly matched to the 8-Speed Sport-Automatic Transmission and delivers stunning driving performance. The Saloon accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds (Touring in 4.8 seconds), accompanied by a distinct and lively engine soundtrack. With a top speed of 273 km/h (Touring 270 km/h), the BMW ALPINA D3 S is one of the fastest diesel automobiles in its segment.*
CLEVER.
The BMW mild hybrid technology maximises the efficiency of the high-performance engine, making the latest BMW ALPINA diesel model the ideal everyday companion for high-mileage drivers who value low fuel consumption but do not want to compromise on performance and dynamics. The new BMW ALPINA D3 S has been homologated to the latest Euro 6d-ISC-FCM emission standard and features state-of-the art exhaust gas treatment technology. Fuel consumption measured according to the new and more realistic WLTP measuring cycle (Worldwide Harmonized Light-Duty Vehicles Test Procedure) is 7.6 l/100 km with CO2 emissions of 199 g/km.**

The new BMW ALPINA D3 S models are available to order immediately, with deliveries commencing November 2020.
