Alpine unveils compact electric car A290
Launches next year
Next year Alpine will launch its first electric car "for the people" and it will be the production version of the concept we see here. The car is called A290 and it is a compact little thing with Renault 5 vibes. Apparently 85 percent of the concept's exterior design will make it to production. However, the interior will change quite a bit as it currently only has room for three people and the driver's seat is in the middle. The finished car will be based on the CMF-B EV platform and will share technology with the upcoming electric Renault 5 and Zoe. The Renault 5 will be offered with either 79 kW/107 horsepower or 96 kW/131 horsepower, but the Alpine is expected to have significantly more power. Rumors say 215 horsepower and an even sharper version with 268 horsepower will be released in 2027. Whether the drive will be rear-wheel or all-wheel remains to be seen. The concept car has two electric motors at the front. So there's a lot of show at the moment but it looks good so far, don't you think?
