Apple and Google have jointly developed an industry specification that they hope will combat unwanted tracking with Bluetooth tracking devices like Apple's AirTags. The new specification enables devices from other manufacturers to be compatible with notifications for unwanted tracking detection on iOS and Android. Companies such as Samsung, Tile, Pebblebee, and Chipolo are some of the companies that are currently on board with the specification.Apple and Google will release a production implementation of the unwanted tracking detection specification no later than 2023, and it will be supported in future versions of iOS and Android.
