Aspark Owl electric car sets two new world records
Quick wit
In 2017 the Japanese electric car Aspark Owl was unveiled for the first time. Recently they took the car to Elvington Airfield in the UK and came back with two new world records. Guinness was present and measured the "average speed over an eighth mile" which landed at 192.03 mph / 309.02 km/h and the "average speed over a quarter mile" which landed at 198.12 mph / 318.85 km/h.They didn't measure the 0-100 times this time, but Aspark is convinced they can get it under 1.7 seconds. Under the car's shell there are four electric motors that together generate 2012 horsepower and 2000 Newton meters of torque. The battery pack is rated at 64 kWh and is expected to provide a range of 45 miles according to the NEDC cycle. Only 50 units will be produced and the starting price is 2.9 million euros.
