Authors in Hollywood go on strike
May result in cancelled and delayed programs
Today, screenwriters in Hollywood will go on strike after the Writers Guild of America (WGA) and major film and TV companies in the US failed to reach a new agreement for screenwriters. The strike will result in several TV programs being interrupted as no one will be writing scripts for them. CNN reports that the strike could affect up to 20,000 people working on around 600 productions. The last major strike in Hollywood was in 2007-2008, which led to many TV shows and movies being delayed or ending prematurely. Above is a clip from NBC discussing the upcoming strike that will begin later today.
