Deadline reports that the last film Carrie Fisher recorded will soon have its premiere. It is the fantasy film Wonderwell, whose filming was completed just six weeks before Fisher's death in 2016.

In the film, Fisher plays the character Hazel, who takes the 12-year-old protagonist Violet (Kiera Milward) on a journey where she gets to see her possible future. In addition to Fisher and Milward, the British artist Rita Ora also has a role in the film.

The fact that it has taken a whole seven years for the film to go from being finished to having its premiere is explained, among other things, by shutdowns during the pandemic, as well as the post-production of the film becoming more extensive than director Vlad Marsavin had anticipated. Wonderwell will have its theatrical premiere on June 23.
