Recently sold for 240,000 euros

Michel Robillard, a skilled carpenter, decided to build a Citroën 2CV out of wood. Five years and 5000 hours later, what we see here is the finished product. This is not a model car, but a life-size creation in 1:1 scale. Michel used a mix of cherry, pear, apple, and walnut wood, and the chassis he used is from 1969. The car is fully functional and still has an air-cooled two-cylinder engine under the hood. This creation has been exhibited at various events and was recently sold at auction for 240,000 Euros. The buyer is a 2CV enthusiast and has a museum where this car will be displayed alongside old carnival memorabilia and similar items.

Michel's next project is a Citroën DS21 Décapotable Chapron, which will be completed in three years. And of course, this one will also be built out of wood.
