Ed Sheeran to quit music
If he loses Marvin Gaye lawsuit
Pop star Ed Sheeran has been sued by the heirs of Ed Townsend's estate, who wrote the song "Let's Get It On" with Marvin Gaye in 1973. On May 1st, Sheeran returned to the witness stand in Manhattan during the ongoing plagiarism trial of "Let's Get It On", where he is accused of stealing elements from Marvin Gaye's 1973 song in the creation of his 2014 song "Thinking Out Loud". During the trial, he was reportedly asked about his plans if he were to lose the case - Sheeran's response suggested that he would leave music behind altogether if that were to happen.Whether this is good news or bad news is up to each individual, but below you can listen to the similarities between the songs.
