Edible battery developed by researchers Could be used in children's toys Edible battery developed by researchers Foto: IIT The Italian Institute of Technology (IIT) has announced in a press release that they have developed a battery whose components are entirely made of edible materials, making it safe to swallow. The edible battery is made of ingredients such as beeswax and water. It has a strength of 0.65V and can deliver 48 microamperes for approximately 12 minutes. The researchers state in the press release that the battery could, for example, power an LED light for a short period. If the batteries were to be developed further and last a bit longer, they could also be used in children's toys and health devices such as biosensors, robots that deliver medicine inside the body, and similar applications. opentalk.iit.it Science, Italian Institute of Technology, Edible Battery, Beeswax, Biosensors, Medicine Delivery Robots Bild till artikel Foto: IIT
