Electrogenic now offers electric conversion kits for Jaguar E-Type
Lighter than a combustion engine
Here Electrogenic showcases an electric conversion kit they have developed for the Jaguar E-Type Series 1. The kit is plug-n-play, does not damage the car in any way, and should be easy to restore if you get tired of cruising "silently". The car featured in the video is a 1962 model equipped with the E43 kit, which provides a 43 kWh battery pack that lasts for 24 miles. You can charge it with a CCS connector, and the electric motor delivers 120 kW/163 horsepower, 620 Newton meters of torque, and reaches 0-100 km/h in under six seconds. If you want more power, there are also the E48s and E62 kits. The former gives you a 48 kWh battery pack, a range of 25 miles, an electric motor with 150 kW/204 horsepower, 840 Newton meters of torque, and a 0-100 time of under five seconds. The E62 allows you to go the farthest, with a drumroll-worthy 62 kWh battery pack, a range of up to 32 miles, and the same electric motor as the E43 kit.On the inside, the instrument panel is updated so you can monitor the electric gadgets. Visually, the exhaust pipes are retained, making it very difficult to tell that this is an electric converted car. You also charge it in the same place you used to fill up with gasoline. Despite the heavy battery pack and electric motor, the result is even lighter after the conversion. The price tags are not currently available, but it's unlikely to be a cheap endeavor.
