Framery showcases Contact
Booths for more immersive video calls
Framery, the Finnish company specializing in creating soundproof booths for workplaces, has unveiled "Contact," a booth designed for video calls. The idea behind Contact seems not entirely dissimilar to that of Google and Logitech's Project Starline and Project Ghost, which we've written about before.Contact uses screens, cameras, microphones, speakers, and mirrors to make the person you're video calling with feel more present than they might in a traditional video call through a computer screen. Framery writes about Contact:"Projections are captured, unaltered, and transmitted at the highest possible quality, while strategically placed mirrors capture and display direct eye contact. This ensures a high degree of social presence and prevents adverse effects caused by computer-generated imagery."Framery has started offering some of its partners the opportunity to test Contact, but there is currently no information on when it will be available on a larger scale. The cost of Contact is also unclear at this time. Below, you can check out a video from Framery showing what it looks like to use Contact.
