Google and Taito to create AR version of Space Invaders

45-year-old game adapted for modern times

The Japanese game developer Taito and Google are teaming up to create a new version of the classic game Space Invaders, which Taito originally released in 1978.

The new version will be called Space Invaders: World Defense. It's a mobile game where players will shoot down pixelated aliens in an augmented reality mode. Above, you can check out a trailer that Google's AR & VR division just released for the upcoming game.
