Hyundai's new headlights project information onto the road
Will maybe reduce accidents during night time
Hyundai's Mobis division is working on headlight technology that could reduce accidents during night driving. They call it the HD Lightning System, and it can project information onto the road in front of the car, alerting the driver to hazards such as slippery conditions. Even people outside the car will be able to see the projection in the dark, making them aware of the driver's intentions. The technology is a combination of many small LED lights in the headlights, camera sensors, and GPS navigation. Whether this will make it into a production-ready model remains to be seen.
