iRobot unveils T.R.E.A.T

Improving the relationship between robot vacuums and dogs

iRobot, the company that manufactures robot vacuum cleaners under the Roomba brand, has developed a new accessory for its vacuums that can deliver dog treats to the home's dogs.

The accessory is called the Tasty Reward Emission Apparatus Thingy (T.R.E.A.T.) and replaces the container that is usually used to collect the dust that the vacuum cleaner sucks up. The vacuum cleaner can then glide around the home and periodically release dog treats. Due to the design, it is not possible to vacuum while using T.R.E.A.T., so the accessory is mainly intended to make dogs less hostile towards the vacuum cleaner. When it's time to vacuum, the owner must switch back to the original dust container.

T.R.E.A.T. is currently in the prototype stage and is not yet being sold by iRobot. However, Roomba owners in the US and Canada can apply to test T.R.E.A.T., which they can do on the website found at the link below.
