Kindle Scribe gets update

Amazon has updated its e-book reader, the Kindle Scribe, with some new functionality that may make the device more useful. Unlike previous Kindle e-readers, the Kindle Scribe comes with a stylus that allows users to write on the device. The latest update also allows users to write directly in books, crosswords, and other documents that support it, according to a blog post by Amazon.

Other new features include the ability to convert what is written on the device into digital text that can be easily shared with others via an export function. Amazon has also implemented a "lasso tool" (see image below) that allows users to easily highlight text with the stylus, as well as made some interface changes for those who use the device to read PDF files.

Prices for the Kindle Scribe start at $340.
