Mercedes unveils C111-inspired concept

Seagull wings are in position

Mercedes is now introducing the new concept car One-Eleven, inspired by the C111 prototypes developed in the 60s and 70s. The gullwing doors are in place, but that's where the technical similarities end. The new car is, of course, fully electric and packed with futuristic gadgets. The old cars experimented with both Wankel and diesel engines, but here we have dual electric motors instead. These motors, developed by Yasa, are lighter and more compact than today's electric motors, and something that could find its way into future models. The batteries, also developed in collaboration with the Mercedes F1 team, feature liquid-cooled cylindrical cells.

This is, as mentioned, just a concept, and Mercedes isn't revealing much about the technical details under the hood at the moment.
