Elon Musk's brain computer one step closer to reality

Elon Musk's company Neuralink has now been granted permission by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to begin clinical trials with the implant that will connect brains with computers. This means that Neuralink can now start implanting its brain implant in humans and conduct tests on it. Previously, Neuralink has implemented its brain chips in pigs and monkeys. Neuralink is developing a so-called BCI interface (brain-computer interface) with which the company hopes to help patients suffering from, for example, stroke and spinal cord injuries, as well as the possibility, in the long term, of downloading a person's memories to a robot. Since Neuralink began testing its implants on animals in 2018, around 1,500 animals, including sheep and monkeys, have been euthanized during or after the experiments. There is currently no information on when Neuralink plans to start testing its implants on humans.
