Things are not going great for Nikola Motors, and after reporting some really disappointing numbers for the first quarter of the year, they have now decided to pause production of the fully electric truck Tre. From now on it will only be produced if someone orders it. During the first quarter they managed to produce 63 units, but only 33 have been sold.

According to the company they have 140 orders for the hydrogen fuel cell version of Tre, but this will not start production until July.

"As we have sufficient inventory of the battery electric truck, we will temporarily pause production in Coolidge, Arizona, as we modify the assembly line to accommodate both hydrogen fuel cell and battery electric builds on the same line. After we resume production in Coolidge, the battery electric Tre will remain in our lineup as a build-to-order product."
