Google rolls out support for passkeys

The future is here, Google is now rolling out support for passkeys which are a more convenient and secure alternative to passwords. Keys work on all major platforms and browsers and allow users to log in by unlocking their computer or mobile device with their fingerprint, facial recognition, or a local PIN code. When you create a key on your Google account, you no longer need to enter your password or two-factor authentication (2FA) when logging in. According to Google, keys offer stronger protection against phishing and data breaches than passwords and other 2FA methods.Passkeys can be created on most platforms, including iOS and Android. If you create a key on iOS, it will be synced between devices via iCloud Keychain. Keys cannot be written down or shared with unauthorized individuals, and if you lose a device with a key, you can quickly revoke the key in your account settings. Keys are built on the standard from FIDO Alliance. Here you can add keys to your Google account.
