Norway tops press freedom list
Today is World Press Freedom Day
Today marks the UN-established World Press Freedom Day, and in connection with this, Reporters Without Borders (RSF) releases its annual "World Press Freedom Index". Norway tops the World Press Freedom Index 2023, followed by Ireland, Denmark, Sweden, and Finland. At the bottom of the 180 ranked countries, the usual repressive states can be found, including North Korea, China, Vietnam, Iran, and Turkmenistan. Russia ranked 164th, nine places worse than the previous year. You can find the World Press Freedom Index 2023 here, and here you can read RSF's own comments on this year's press freedom index.
