Nvidia releases G-SYNC Ultra Low Motion Blur 2
Reduced motion blur in gaming
During the Computex trade show in Taiwan, Nvidia released the second generation of their Ultra Low Motion Blur (ULMB) technology, which aims to reduce motion blur in games played on screens with a "low" refresh rate. With ULMB 2, Nvidia claims that games played on a 360 Hz refresh rate screen will be equivalent to a theoretical screen that refreshes at 1440 Hz:"For a 360 Hz monitor with ULMB 2, the effective motion clarity is actually 1440 Hz. That means in order to obtain the same level of motion clarity without ULMB 2, gamers would need a classic panel capable of 1440 Hz."You can see a comparison of how it looks in slow motion on a 360 Hz screen with ULMB 2 on and off in the clip above.ULMB 2 is being released as a free update for 1440p, 360Hz G-Sync monitors. Currently, there are only two such monitors on the market, the 27-inch Acer Predator XB273U and ASUS ROG Swift PG27AQN.In the video below, Nvidia talks a bit more about how Ultra Low Motion Blur 2 works.
