Nyobolt's electric car to be fully charged in six minutes
That doesn't sound too bad
Last month, we wrote about the company Nyobolt and their fast charging technology. Now they are showcasing a car equipped with this technology, and a full charge should only take six minutes. The car is developed by Callum, with battery technology from Nyobolt, and designed by Julian Thomson, who also designed the first generation of the Lotus Elise S1 - which this car also bears resemblance to.The battery pack is only 35 kWh, and the range is expected to be 25 miles. Not very impressive, but since it can be charged so quickly, maybe it doesn't matter? And because the battery pack is small, the car only weighs around one ton, which should make it quite fun to drive. Charging is done through regular electric vehicle chargers available today, but the company is not revealing their "secret" to achieving such fast charging speeds. The battery in the car is set to begin production in early next year, and will be available for other manufacturers to purchase. A working prototype of Nyobolt's drivetrain will be presented in the future, but whether the car will ever become a reality remains to be seen.
