Niantic's Tamagotchi-like game

Today, the creators of Pokemon Go, Niantic, are releasing their latest mobile game, Peridot. It's a game where the player takes care of a digital pet and is tasked with raising and caring for it, not unlike the popular Tamagotchis from the 1990s.

Just like Pokemon Go, it's an augmented reality game where the player uses their phone's camera to have their "dot" play, eat, and be petted in the environment around them. There's also the option to meet other players' "dots" and connect them to create a little dot-baby that inherits traits from both parent dots.
