Sony begins testing streaming of PS5 games

Sony has initiated a test where PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers can stream PS5 games to their PlayStation 5 consoles without having to download them. It will be possible to stream games from both the PS Plus Game Catalog and the PS5 games that the user has already purchased and that support this new feature.

Previously, Sony has offered the option to stream PS3 and PS4 titles to PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers. These games have also been playable on PC, which is not the case for the PS5 titles that will now be available for streaming.

Earlier this year, Sony introduced the handheld console "Project Q," which is intended to be able to play PlayStation games via RemotePlay from the PS5. It is not entirely impossible that the ability to stream PS5 games from the cloud will also be available on Project Q when it is released.
