Last Sunday, Nintendo's and Illumination's film The Super Mario Bros. Movie passed the one billion dollar mark in box office revenue.

According to Variety, the film had earned $490 million in the US and $532 million in the rest of the world as of Sunday. It is the fifth film after the pandemic to surpass one billion dollars globally. The other films that have achieved this feat so far are Spider-Man: No Way Home, Top Gun: Maverick, Jurassic World Dominion, and Avatar: The Way of Water.

The Super Mario Bros. Movie also becomes the eleventh animated film ever to earn over one billion dollars. The list is topped by the 2019 remake of The Lion King, which earned over $1.6 billion. You can find all the animated films that have earned over one billion dollars in the table below.
