Gets new battery pack and finally a heat pump

Volkswagen is now introducing a longer version of the ID. Buzz minibus that can accommodate up to seven people. If desired, the middle row can be equipped with separate seats instead of a bench, providing six seats in total. The vehicle measures almost five meters in length, and the extra space has allowed engineers to install a larger battery pack with a capacity of 86 kWh (net), providing better range. However, the exact range has not been disclosed yet. The vehicle can be fast-charged up to 200 kW, reaching 10-80% charge in just 25 minutes. Additionally, the Buzz now features a heat pump to improve efficiency. The new electric motor, which premiered in the ID.7, is also available, providing 286 horsepower and accelerating from 0-100 km/h in 7.9 seconds. Next year, a four-wheel-drive GTX version with 339 horsepower will be released, capable of reaching 0-100 km/h in 6.4 seconds.

These are significant upgrades for an otherwise fun but not particularly impressive electric vehicle. Hopefully, the infotainment system will also be improved in the future. Sales in Sweden are expected to begin in the first half of next year, with the first deliveries planned for the second half of 2024.
