Right now a new type of traffic light is being tested in the city of Brossard in Canada that shows red if it detects that you are driving too fast. However, if you stick to the speed limit, you will get a green light and can continue driving. The light is always red but switches to green if you drive like a normal person, but remains red if you drive like a maniac. Then you have to brake gently and in some cases stop the car completely before the light turns green.

Right now the system is being tested outside a school and will be in place for 90 days for evaluation. Similar traffic lights apparently exist in other parts of the world, have you seen any of these before?
