No one seems to like them
Menus that are accessed via QR codes have increasingly started to disappear after the pandemic began to subside, several media outlets report. QR code menus began to appear at some restaurants already ten years ago, but it was only in connection with the pandemic that they became a somewhat common feature at restaurants. Now, however, it seems to be over with that. The reason why QR code menus have become less common is said to be because no one really likes them. Restaurant guests do not seem to appreciate having to pull out their mobile phones to see what is available on the menu. Neither do restaurant staff like the digital menus as they are considered to take focus away from the actual meeting between the waiter and the guest.According to the service MustHaveMenus, which offers menus via QR code to restaurants, the number of scanned QR code menus has decreased by 27 percent between April-May this year compared to the same period last year.
