Twitter enables users to fact-check images
Spotting Fake News
Foto: Twitter
Twitter has launched a new feature that allows users to add information indicating that a picture may be fake, which could be useful in times like these when more and more AI-generated content is appearing on social media. The new feature is similar to an existing one where users can inform other Twitter users that a tweet contains incorrect or false information. The new feature allows for specific labeling of fake images. Initially, information can be added to tweets containing a picture, but in the future, it will also be possible to label posts containing video clips and multiple images.Since AI-generated images have become easy to create, several such images have gone viral and spread through Twitter and other social media. We have previously written about how images of a fake arrest of Donald Trump and a pimped-out Pope have gone viral.
