Twitter rolls out encrypted direct messages
But only to Twitter Blue users and verified organisations

Twitter has now started rolling out encrypted direct messages, but it's not yet easy to have fully encrypted conversations on Twitter. Firstly, only Twitter Blue users and verified organizations have access to encrypted direct messages on Twitter. As both parties in a conversation must have support for encrypted messages, only Twitter Blue users and members of verified organizations can have encrypted conversations with each other. There is also no support for sending any type of image, video, or other media in encrypted direct messages on Twitter. Finally, it seems that the encryption is not completely 100% secure. For example, metadata in messages is not encrypted and they are not protected against so-called man-in-the-middle attacks, according to Engadget. The conclusion that can be drawn is that for now, it may be best to refrain from having private conversations that you want to keep secret on Twitter.
