Volvo unveils EX30

Starting at 429,000 SEK

Volvo is now launching the new small electric car EX30. As expected, it's a crossover and this is a sibling car to Zeekr X. The entry-level version has a rear-wheel-drive electric motor, an LFP battery, acceleration of 5.3 seconds to 100 km/h, and a consumption of 15.7 kWh per ten miles. There is also a version called Single Motor Extended Range, which instead has an NMC battery and a range of up to 48 miles.

You can also get all-wheel drive with an extra motor on the front axle, and this version is called Twin Motor Performance. Then you also get Volvo's fastest car ever - 0-100 km/h should take 3.6 seconds. This one instead goes 46 miles and has a consumption of 16.3 kWh per ten miles. The power is stated as 315 kW/428 horsepower. This one should be able to fast charge up to 153 kW.

The order books open today, also here in Sweden. The car costs from SEK 429,000. You can also subscribe to it and it costs from SEK 5,990 per month. When the first deliveries will take place is still unclear. Next year, somewhat surprisingly, a Cross Country version of the EX30 will also be released. It will have even higher ground clearance, front and rear skid plates, black plastic cladding all around, and you can, among other things, get it with 18-inch wheels with specially adapted tires. It will of course also have Cross Country emblems but also a small Swedish flag on the hood.
