Cars with Android software (not Android Auto) will now have access to apps such as YouTube, Waze, and video conferencing apps like Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Webex. The ability to watch YouTube videos while parked will be available "in the coming weeks" for Volvo and Polestar cars, with more car brands getting the app later. Video conferencing tools like Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Cisco Webex will also be available in cars with "Google built-in," but only for audio.

Car manufacturers using Android Automotive include Volvo, Chevrolet, GMC, Cadillac, Renault, and Honda. Ford is another manufacturer that will also be transitioning to Google's Android Automotive.
