Id Software har släppt en ny, stor uppdatering till Doom som kommer med en hel del trevliga nyheter. Gänget har bland annat slängt in ett arkadläge där du från start får tillgång till samtliga vapen, runor och färdigheter och måste fokusera på att samla ihop en stor mängd poäng under spelets gång.
På Snapmap-fronten har användare med Update 4 fått tillgång till klassiska Doom-element som de kan använda när de bygger egna banor.
Även multiplayerläget har uppdaterats och id Software har lagt till två nya spellägen vid namn Prowlers vs. Marine och Bloodrush. I Prowlers vs. Marine får du och dina lagkamrater slåss mot spelarkontrollerade prowlers och om du blir dödad av en fiende så förvandlas du till en prowler och måste vända dig mot dina lagkamrater. Bloodrush är en variant av free-for-all där du ständigt måste döda dina motståndare för att hålla din Bloodrush-mätare uppe. Om den trillar ner på noll och du avlider under matchen så förlorar du möjligheten att respawna.
