Nintendo-presidenten Satoru Iwata berättade för Nintendos aktieägare att Wii U inte kommer hamna i backspegeln på Sonys och Microsofts kommande konsoler. Han nämnde att det kommer inte kommer vara någon drastisk skillnad i grafikväg mellan konsolerna.

"We cannot promise that the Wii U will never be excluded from multi-platform software for eternity, but we can at least assure you that the Wii U will not have such a big difference as the Wii had in comparison to how, on other platforms, developers could expect very different graphic capabilities of generating HD-applicable high-resolution graphics.

Microsoft har dock annat att säga om Wii Us grafiska förmåga. Microsofts Phil Spencer nämnde nämligen nyligen att Wii U mer eller mindre är en Xbox 360 när det gäller den GPU-kraft.
