Now you can unlock your BMW with your Android phone
Without taking the phone out of your pocket
The BMW Digital Key Plus feature is now available to all Android phones, having previously been exclusive to Google's Pixel phones. The new feature allows users to lock, unlock and start their BMW without taking the phone out of their pocket. Digital Key Plus uses the phone's ultra-wideband chip to communicate with the car with "very precise localization with the highest possible security."To use the feature, you need a phone with a UWB chip. BMW lists these phones in its press release: Galaxy S23+, S23 Ultra, S22+, S22 Ultra, S21+, S21 Ultra, Z Fold4, Z Fold3, Note20 Ultra, Pixel 7 Pro, and Pixel 6 Pro.
