Repairing electric cars is expensive

It's not cheap to repair new cars, and electric cars stand out even more in that regard. Sometimes they even have to be scrapped just because of scratches on the battery pack. Ryan Shaw owns a Tesla Model Y and in this clip he talks about the very salty bills he has received when the car has been in for repairs. He had an incident where the rear bumper was damaged and it cost him $8,701. Then he was rear-ended on another occasion, but the bill landed at $23,614 instead. Luckily, the battery pack was not damaged, because otherwise the car would probably have been written off since it is part of the car's construction.
