Audi vill bli ännu lyxigare
Utan att konkurrera internt
Audis bilar är inte direkt billiga som de är, och snart kanske de kommer bli ännu dyrare. Tillverkaren vill nämligen kliva upp ett steg när det kommer till lyxen och erbjuda ännu flådigare, och automatiskt, dyrare modeller. Men man vill inte klampa in på Bentleys territorium, utan hålla sig ett snäpp under.
I en intervju säger Jose Miguel Aparicio som är ny Audi-chef i Storbritannien:
"We are making a step upwards in terms of premiumness, increasing the prestige, desirability and perception of the brand, and more interested in the quality of business than the quantity. We really need to create this brand attraction and desire. We are significantly increasing the center of gravity in terms of price because we are more present in these sectors; the number of customers in C and D segments we want to approach is increasing. That means a significant increase in price, and in order to do it successfully we really need to create this brand attraction and desire. The essence for this is product innovation, but we also have to offer a premium customer experience to them; we are talking about making an evolution, moving upwards."
Vad som blir först ut bland detta nya flådiga är oklart. Det skulle kunna handla om en ännu snofsigare uppföljare till A8 eller så blir det verklighet av konceptbilarna Grandsphere och Urbansphere. När man tar det nya klivet är dock oklart.
