Subaru kanske ska börja tävla i WRC igen

Med hjälp från Toyota

Subaru har inte deltagit i WRC sedan 2008 men nu kommer ett nytt rykte som säger att de kanske är på väg tillbaka till sporten. Toyota som äger lite av Subaru kan alltså vara de som hjälper tillverkaren tillbaka då de skulle kunna bistå med chassin och liknande. Bilarna måste även ha en turbomatad motor på 1,6 liter med hybrid-lösning och eftersom Subaru inte erbjuder något sådant kan Toyota hjälpa till med den biten också. Orden kommer från FIA-chefen Mohammed Ben Sulayem som säger följande i ett uttalande:

"It’s not a secret I had a good meeting with Mr Akio Toyoda, and I ask him what we can do about enticing more manufacturers into the WRC and I listened to someone who is passionate. And he mentioned Subaru. I hope that some of that will come. I feel more manufacturers are good. I see positive signs from the chairman of Toyota in convincing Subaru to come back and providing the engine, where Subaru’s issue is with the engine. It’s not with the car, it’s with the engine they have. And I can see some signs of optimism there, really."
