Meta har släppt två nya modeller för att göra om 2D-bilder till 3D-modeller vilka ingår i de bildsegmenteringsmodeller som Meta gett namnet "Segment Anything Model" (SAM).

Med modellen SAM 3D Object blir det möjligt för användare att göra en 3D-modell av ett objekt från en stillbild, medan SAM 3D Body gör samma sak fast med människokroppar som avbildas på 2D-bilder. Meta skriver om de nya modellerna:

"Today, we’re excited to introduce SAM 3D — a first-of-its-kind addition to the SAM collection of models, bringing common sense 3D understanding of natural images. Whether you’re a researcher exploring new frontiers in AR/VR, a creator looking to generate assets for a game, or simply curious about the possibilities of AI-enabled 3D modeling, SAM 3D opens up new ways to interact with and understand the visual world."

I samband med att Meta släpper sina nya bildsegmenteringsmodeller lanserar man även plattformen "Segment Everything" där användare själva kan experimentera med de nya modellerna.
