Rasistiska Magic-kort rensas ut
Sju kort plockas bort från det populära kortspelet
Även företaget Wizards of the Coast som ger ut det populära kortspelet Magic: The Gathering har nu uppmärksammat debatten om rasism, en debatt som uppstått efter det att en amerikansk polis dödade en obeväpnad svart man i Minneapolis förra månaden.
Detta har lett till att spelförläggaren nu har beslutat att rensa bort sju stycken kort från kortleken som man har bedömt som rasistiska. Det handlar bland annat om kortet "Invoke Prejudice" som har en beskrivning som lyder:
"If opponent casts a Summon spell that does not match the color of one of the creatures under your control, that spell is countered."
Förutom "Invoke Prejudice" plockas nu även korten "Cleanse", "Stone-Throwing Devils", "Pradesh Gypsies", "Jihad", "Imprison" samt "Crusade" bort från Magic skriver Polygon. Wizards of the Coast säger i ett uttalande, som ni kan läsa i sin helhet på länken nedan, om att man plockar bort de sju korten från Magic:
"The events of the past weeks and the ongoing conversation about how we can better support people of color have caused us to examine ourselves, our actions, and our inactions. We appreciate everyone helping us to recognize when we fall short. We should have been better, we can be better, and we will be better."
