Designen bakom Donkervoorts nästa superbil
Hälften nederländsk, hälften spansk
Donkervoorts nästa modell heter P24RS och den lovar man ska vara något alldeles extra. I det här klippet delar designern Jordi Wiersma med sig av hur man har tänkt kring den nya bilen. Han är till hälften nederländsk och till hälften spanjor vilket han drar nytta av i sitt arbete.
"The Spanish think I’m Dutch, the Dutch think I’m Spanish, the designers think I’m an engineer and the engineers think I’m a designer. I’ve always had this duality, and it comes out in my design ideas, because I draw from both sides, but not consciously. There are similarities between moving between Spanish and Dutch cultures, and moving between the artistic side of design and the hard engineering points. Spain is a lot more dramatic and workably messy if you compare it to The Netherlands. People are expressive and things always seem to be happening around you, where Dutch people quietly go about their business, until they suddenly don’t."
