Intel slutar tillverka datorer
Säger hejdå till minidatorerna NUC
Serve The Home rapporterar att Intel har beslutat sig för att lägga ner tillverkningen av sina pc-datorer NUC (Next Unit of Computing), en minidator som varit uppskattad av bland annat gamers och de som använt datorn som hemmaserver och liknande. Intel bekräftar att man nu säger hejdå till NUC och skriver i ett mail till The Verge:
"We have decided to stop direct investment in the Next Unit of Compute (NUC) Business and pivot our strategy to enable our ecosystem partners to continue NUC innovation and growth. This decision will not impact the remainder of Intel’s Client Computing Group (CCG) or Network and Edge Computing (NEX) businesses. Furthermore, we are working with our partners and customers to ensure a smooth transition and fulfillment of all our current commitments – including ongoing support for NUC products currently in market."
Intel presenterade sina NUC-datorer 2012 och den första versionen släpptes på marknaden 2013. Tidigare i år sålde Intel sin serververksamhet till taiwanesiska Mitac, något som innebär att Intel ser ut att lämna hårdvarumarknaden för datorer helt och hållet.
